Dr. Brian Iwata recommends testing for four conditions in a functional analysis. The four conditions are: alone, social disapproval, academic demand, and unstructured play.

We will take you through 400 minutes of data collection using the ten sessions each at ten minutes to determine the function of an eleven year old with autism, intellectual disabilities, bipolar, and possible schizophrenia.

This seminar will show you how we tested for each condition, how we added to that our functional assessment, surveys, and interviews and developed a multi-element plan.

The great thing about this portion of the training is that we are 16 years past the intervention and we can share how the intervention had long-term effects toward a positive future.

We will give you some other examples of manipulating the environment to test for hypotheses. A functional analysis can be completed in a clinic or a full classroom.

Finally, we will have you do a functional analysis by helping out a friend with a young child. This can be completed even in quarantine by using Facetime and a few other tools you have readily available.

All one day or longer seminars come with a free Zoom call with Dr. Riffel after you have watched the videos. Simply email [email protected] and request a time that works for you.
