Rationale

Family Members did not receive a Master's Degree in Special Education. Many times they have no idea where to start to access services and they are overwhelmed by the behavioral, medical, and academic needs of their child. As a school district, it is our duty to ensure that ALL of our students graduate with the capability of enjoying a dignified life in their home, work, and leisure activities.

This presentation focuses on what we learned while living with an adult with significant disabilities post-secondary education, teaching students with disabilities over the year, working with teachers and family members in a statewide program.

This 2.5 hour presentation will take you through the three areas that need to be addressed.
